This morning I woke up with a word heavy on my heart and totally coming from personal experience. I realized something now too long ago that when God gives you a purpose, plan or dream, it is often coupled with a decent amount of strain, strife and difficulties that serve as teaching tools. These teaching tools become the very experiences that help shape your work ethic, appreciation and maturity to accomplish the God-given purpose inside of you. But beyond the standard bumps in the road, there are sometimes external daggers, arrows and disappointments that are demeaning, destructive and dream killing-- these are not ordinary God shaping moments. God is not interested in destroying your purpose or killing your potential. In fact, these are straight shots from the devil himself and the bigger your purpose, the more intense, frequent and deep the shots come. Whether we realize it or not, there is warfare happening in the Spirit and we must be persistent in our efforts to maintain our guard.

This means, double checking discouragement and not being so quick to throw in the towel. This also means, praying through difficult seasons in your marriage or relationships and pushing past the temptation to divorce or simply break up when the going gets tough. What we all must understand is that the devil does not care much about you, he cares more about the purpose inside of you. See if you die today, that same purpose can be fulfilled through someone else

We are simply vessels that contain the purpose of God. This realization should  strike a sense of responsibility in all of us, so no matter the difficulties we face, we must overcome. I refuse to end my life as a "has been" or another female who decided to live an ordinary life, without ever birthing the earth-shattering purpose inside of me. Come what may, let's make a pact to fulfill our God-given purpose  against the odds.

"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places." -Ephesians 6:10-12 NLT
